A St. Patrick's Day Pick-Me-Up

With a bit o' luck, you may shut down the shop a wee bit early to celebrate St. Patty's Day. We'll join in, but we're skipping the green-beer-inspired jokes spouted off in phony Irish accents. You'll get enough of that throughout the day.
Instead, we're tipping our hats to how well the Irish handle the written word. They're masters of blessings, proverbs, (see video quotes and jokes. Examples:
Blessing:
May you live to be a hundred years, with one extra year to repent.
Quote:
The reason the Irish are always fighting each other is they have no other worthy opponents.
Quote:
In order to find his equal, an Irishman is forced to talk to God.
Toast:
As you slide down the banister of life, may the splinters never point in the wrong direction.
Joke:
An Irishman sent ten puns to friends, with the hope that at least one of the puns would make them laugh. No pun in ten did.
